CLOS BASTÉ

Chantal and Philippe Mur have been writing for a few vintages a new highlight of the Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic Bilh appellations. Well-built wines based on the quality of fruit from organic farming, voluntary and attentive to the soil.
From the vine to the grape must, then to the wine, there are so many stages to choose from, where intuition and above all the “terroir spirit” prevail over technology and scientific certainty.
Our profession of artisan-winemaker is more than a professional activity, it is a lifestyle choice. Honesty, humility and respect in our work, for our environment and our customers, are part of our approach.
The will and freedom to undertake, but also the desire to live in harmony with our values, are our driving forces. In 1998, we acquired an old building with character in ruins, the Maison Basté. We then undertake to restore it, to bring it back to life.
At the same time, we buy and rent different parcels of old vines located on excellent terroirs in the Madiran and Pacherenc de Vic Bilh appellations. This is how a new wine estate was born. Our objective then is to make it a Mecca for Vic-Bilh wines.

🍷OENOTOURISM: Chantal and Philippe welcome you to their estate and will make you discover their wines, their terroir, with passion:
- Guided tour and tasting a guided tour with tasting, whether you are alone or in a group
- An “organic winegrower’s Apéro”: it's a tasty experience to discover the profession of winegrower and taste the fruit of the Clos Basté vine.
Madiran wine, more than a tradition in the South West, is part of our culture and our way of life. Our desire is to transmit this culture that drives us and the expression of our Madiran terroir through an aperitif including a visit to the vineyards and the estate, explanations on organic viticulture and tasting of the estate's wines accompanied by local tapas. Every Thursday in the summer at 6 p.m., €5 per person.

Visit the vineyards and the cellar in the company of Philippe and Chantal, the winegrowers of Clos Basté, enjoy a commented tasting of the estate's organic wines and taste a carefully selected food and wine pairing, then let yourself be carried away by the DIXIE BIARNÈS group and its Jazz concert - €27 per person
- Stay at the estate thanks to the Clos Basté gîte: Your Clos Basté gîte is located a stone's throw from the estate, at the edge of the forest. You will find a welcoming and completely renovated chalet to enjoy the calm of the countryside in the heart of the Vic Bilh vineyard and the Madiran vineyard.
We can welcome you in groups or families up to 10 people.
