The Maquis' hut

Sombrun has a strong history in connection with the Second World War. The resistance group "the Maquis de Bigorre" was created in May 1943 and will settle in early 1944 in the "Hut" of Sombrun wood.
Denounced in July 1944 the Maquis was partly decimated. The stele is erected in memory of these young victims. The village of Sombrun is also remarkable for its castle and its fountains.
