Before taking the plunge in Roman times, you can familiarize yourself with the Roman Empire thanks to the interpretation center, located in the old Eauze station!
This space will allow you to understand the scale of the city of Elusa thanks to an interactive and playful scenography and will transport you in the daily life of an ancient city. Secondly, you will be invited to take the air to discover the archaeological site of the Domus de Cieutat. This wealthy urban mansion, which belonged to a wealthy family, was located in one of the residential areas of Elusa.
The 4th century marks the apogee of the Domus, which then occupied 2700 m² and was a place of pageantry and reception for its owner, probably a local notable. A unique atmosphere awaits you on this site which offers the visitor a glimpse of the extent of the ancient city through a route along the ancient Gallo-Roman streets. The Domus de Cieutat is an excellent starting point to better understand the history of the three sites which form the "ELUSA Capitale Antique" archaeological center.
So, don't hesitate to extend the experience with a visit to the Musée du Trésor d'Eauze and the Villa de Séviac, the other two ELUSA sites!
