Special provisions Covid-19: hydroalcoholic gel available, use of the mask recommended on the sites, payment by credit card recommended. Regarding schedules, these are those of the low season, this may change in July and August, to watch. The Eauze museum exhibits a fabulous Gallo-Roman treasure, unearthed in 1985 in Eauze during the last hours of an archaeological excavation. Made up of over 28,000 coins and around fifty jewels and precious objects, it seems to date from the 3rd century. Its richness and remarkable state of conservation make it one of the most important treasures found in recent years and one of the greatest treasures exhibited in a museum collection in France. In addition to the presentation of this fabulous treasure, the museum houses permanent collections ranging from Prehistory to the Merovingian era. If the collection of Gallo-Roman objects is very rich, that of prehistoric objects constitutes a unique set in Occitania. Each year, a rich and varied cultural program set up for young and old allows everyone to learn and enrich themselves while having fun, through commented visits and storytelling walks, educational workshops, a hunt for treasure, a concert under the stars, an initiation workshop to archaeological excavation, a visit to the treasure with a flashlight ... Consult the cultural program on www.elusa.fr Note Bene: The museum of the treasure is part of the ELUSA Capitale antique structure, which manages a set of three Gallo-Roman sites a few kilometers apart: the treasure museum in Eauze, the domus of Cieutat in the same city and the villa of Séviac in Montréal-du-Gers. Immerse yourself in history and come and discover these three sites, which bear witness to the rich ancient past of the region and which are complementary.
