Special provisions Covid-19: Wearing a mandatory mask, maximum 10 people in the Museum. The Museum is disinfected after each group and hydroalcoholic gel is made available at 4 different points. The town of Lupiac, castelnau in the heart of Gascony, saw the birth in the 17th century of one of the emblematic characters in the history of France, the most famous of the Gascon: Charles de Batz de Castelmore, otherwise known as D'Artagnan. In memory of our valiant musketeer, the Musée d'Artagnan was erected within the village where he was born. The Museum offers a sound and visual tour and a discovery film of the famous Gascon. Audio-guide headsets accompany the visit from one theme to another, providing commentary in two languages (French or English) and sound and musical atmospheres evocative of the time. Numerous documents and reproductions of works evoke the real history of d'Artagnan as well as his historical context. A statue of the hero and wax models help to recreate the atmosphere of the "Grand Siècle". As for the legendary hero, he is evoked through the trilogy of Dumas and his literary sources. The variety and number of editions testify to the public's interest in the most famous of Gascon. Let us add the cinema which has given it a considerable place through dozens of productions made and broadcast all over the world. In the central square of the village of Lupiac you can admire the first equestrian statue of d'Artagnan, a monumental bronze by the famous sculptor Daphné Du Barry. 3 visiting hours: 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
