Luxurious residence of the Roman Empire, Villa Séviac located in Montreal du Gers, restores the living environment of a family of landed gentry fourth and fifth centuries. Introducing the classical plan of the Roman house, the Pars Urbana (residential area of ​​the master) is organized around a square courtyard, surrounded by a Pyrenean marble columns gallery. Living rooms communicate with this interior gallery and second gallery, Outdoor, which runs along the four sides of the house. The pavements of thirty discovered mosaics, more than 450 m2 are kept on the site, are an outstanding ensemble. If the reasons are always different mosaics include an invoice unit characteristic of the School of Aquitaine, essentially geometric and floral decor. On the walls, painted plaster and marble veneer Pyrenean white, gray or green, sometimes highlighted with fluted pilasters, contributed to the magnificence of the house. A second courtyard, provides access to the Spa. Covering over 500 m2, this bath complex, including daily baths and ceremonial baths, running water and indoor swimming pool, is one of the largest private beach that is known. Rooms heated by hypocaust (warm air circulation systems on the ground), mosaics, marble veneer, any contest to the welfare of the bath. For over thirty five years, volunteers of the Association for the Protection of Monuments and Sites of Armagnac conducted archaeological excavations of the site. Thanks to them, these sumptuous ruins are now offered to the curiosity of many visitors. A golf game both playful and educational, are available for children who keep following the site visit a "book of discovery" in memory of the Gallo-Roman villa.
